NEXT MEETING
Wednesday, 18th August – 8:00-10:00 PM
PICTURE SHARING/ Location:  Online

Our Evening Outdoor Photoshoot originally planned for this date has had to be cancelled. Instead, we are bringing forward our usual quarterly picture sharing from September to August and have engaged an extra speaker for our September meeting.

AT OUR FORTHCOMING AUGUST MEETING ON Wednesday 18th, we invite you to show 5-10 images of your choice.  For those who were on our Serpentine and Richmond walks, five images from each walk would be good, or a combination of pictures from the walks and from your own work.  For those of you who have been on holiday, we’d love to see some pictures from your most recent holiday destination.  Or, if you haven’t been away on holiday …… we are flexible, as usual!

A Dropbox link for your images has been sent to Members – if you haven’t received it, please email chairman@hamptonhillps.org.uk
Members do not have to sign up: the zoom link will be sent out to All Members on the day of the meeting.

Non-members need to sign up and buy a ticket via Eventbrite here:- https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/143547058115 The zoom link will be sent on the day of the meeting to those who have signed up and paid.

LAST MONTH’S MEETING –
Wednesday, 21st July
POLINA PLOTNIKOVA FRPS: Starting from a Blank Canvas
This was an absolutely brilliant evening. We already knew that we would be viewing some outstanding Creative Flowers and Still Life Photography. Polina went well beyond this. She openly shared with our members and guests her detailed influences, how she did set ups, backgrounds, how she used lenses for capturing mood and atmosphere, what equipment she uses, how to set up home studio shots with little cost. Her talk covered all this and much, much more. I was really inspired with her White-on-White Project and another one called Dancing Flowers. For anyone who missed this meeting she gives one to one lessons as well as group lessons. You can find out more about Polina on her website: https://www.polinaplotnikova.com/  .

FUTURE MEETINGS
SEPTEMBER

MOTION CAPTURE – A COMPREHENSIVE EXPLORATION OF THE CREATIVE USE OF SHUTTER SPEED
Eddie Hyde ARPS has been a lifelong photography enthusiast, starting as a small boy with a Kodak Brownie.   He is now an Associate of the RPS and an SPA Judge.  He has been widely published and won many awards: you can find out more about Eddie from his website here: Eddie Hyde Photography : Eddie Hyde ARPS (zenfolio.com)

Tonight he will share with us his presentation on capturing motion.   He will cover a wide range of topics ranging from Motor Sport through cycling, planes, birds of prey, runners, breaking waves, cascading water, and more – sharing the ‘How To…’ and showing the results of varying the shutter speed in order to better tell our story.
This should be a great evening with opportunities to pick up tips and tricks along the way.

OUR SPECIAL EVENTS
Richmond Walk:
7th August.
I’m loving these walks. For our August walk, we all met at Richmond Station and after a rainy start and a few Lattes in Butter Beans Café we began our walk across Richmond Green past the remains of the old Richmond Palace and then down along the river, we followed the path through gardens and meadows all the way to Ham House taking in all the scenery along the way. Special thanks to Judy and David who organise these brilliant walks. Always check the website for more information on these walks.

Kingston Walk:
4th September
Our September walk will be on Saturday September 4th and we will be exploring Kingston, in particular the new Sculpture Trail, due to be in place from mid-August – save the date!

HHPS 2021 EXHIBITION
Judy has been in contact with Richmond Libraries and it is looking good for holding our usual Annual Exhibition in the first quarter of 2022 in Teddington Library and then in Hampton Library.  We may be able to a small exhibition in Hampton Library this year.  We will let you know as soon as we can when we have confirmation and dates.
