Wednesday October 19th at 8pm – London Streets: The Monopoly Project by Peter Merry
NOTE: Peter will be present in The Bell to give his talk.
This project is the result of a year of photography, visiting over 40 locations and covering more than 70 miles of walking and photographing around London. The project features 120+ images showing the highs and lows from each location of the London monopoly board.
The talk covers why the project was started, and the approach to finding, shooting, editing and image selection.

ANNUAL EXHIBITION

The exhibition has finished it’s three weeks in Teddington Library and is being installed in Hampton Library on Tuesday for three weeks.

FUTURE EVENTS
NOVEMBER PHOTOWALK
Saturday November 19th at 2pm – Bushy Park (Provisional)
Meet 2pm near the entrance to The Pheasantry Café; duration about two hours. This may be good for autumn colours as they seem to be late this year. Will be cancelled if the leaves have fallen or the weather is unsuitable! The walk will be led by at least one of the experienced members of the Society who lives near to Bushy Park and knows the location well. NOVEMBER MEETING – IN-PERSON
Wednesday November 16th at 8pm – Member’s Evening – Picture Sharing
This is our regular picture sharing evening rearranged from September. Each Member (and Guest) uploads to Dropbox five to ten images on any theme or subject to show and discuss; and maybe ask for constructive critique. Upload some Bushy Park images maybe?

DECEMBER MEETING – IN-PERSON
Wednesday December 21st at 8pm – Annual Member’s Competition and Social Evening
The theme or subject of this year’s competition is: “Patterns”. Each Member can submit up to three digital images on the subject / theme and a Judge will select the “best three” images. Members present will vote to select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
The evening will continue with refreshments, etc. for Members and guests.
There will be a small charge for refreshments; drinks from the bar.

PAST EVENTS
Wednesday September 21st – The Art of Travel Photography by Chris Upton
Chris told us all we needed to know to achieve ‘better’ travel photography and his talk was packed with hints & tips on technique, equipment, and preparation.
Friday October 7th – Annual Exhibition Open Evening
About forty partners, friends and guests came to our open evening – rescheduled after Queen Elizabeth II period of mourning. It was great to have so many photographic enthusiasts in one place having animated conversations. We had our usual “Best Panel” competition, which was won by Rosie Littlemore with Gokhan and Judy as joint runners up.
Saturday October 15th – Bushy Park Photowalk
After a heavy shower at about 1pm, we had beautiful October weather and an enjoyable photowalk in Bushy Park from 2pm. We saw and photographed several lone stags, a group of yearlings and a successful mature male with a harem of about 25+ females. There were four members and eight guests present – including a couple who had make the journey from Pinner / Ruislip to join us.

COMPETITION OPPORTUNITIES
Saturday 22nd October 2pm – SPA Annual Members Print and PDI Competitions
East Horsley Village Hall, Leatherhead KT24 6QT
Prints & PDI for Open & Nature classes.
Deadline for PDI of all entries October 1st
This is the annual SPA competition for individual members of clubs. Note: entries had to be submitted by 1st October, and there is still the option of going along to observe!
At least two of our members have entered and we wish them every success.
