NEXT MEETING
Wednesday 20th May upstairs at the Bell Inn
Annabel Moeller’s presentation: “Techniques for relaxed and authentic portraiture”

This will be an exclusive talk by Annabel in person to Hampton Hill Photographic Society.
Annabel lives in London but has spent a long time in Australia and has travelled extensivelyHer photography spans over three decades and combines an acute sense of adventure with capturing an astonishingly diverse cast of characters. Annabel has photographed the creative powerhouses of the Sydney Opera House and the London Coliseum, a hefty body of work that stands in stark contrast to the war-scarred battlegrounds of Afghanistan, Ukraine and Iraq. She has photographed catwalk models, ballet dancers, opera stars, soldiers, surgeons and civilians. Annabel will talk about assessing different situations quickly to get pleasing results (Aka: tips for “flying by the seat of your pants”). She will also touch on techniques to get the best out of people in order to produce the heart and soul of photography. LAST MEETING (April)
Picture Selection for the SPA Inter-club PDI Championship on 9th May
A judge having reviewed and assessed our images prior to the meeting, our members enjoyed looking at all of them – those he’d judged best and those he thought should be eliminated. No one disputed his choice and members made the final selection by a vote of hands.
Results: We came 21st out of 26 in the Open category and 17th out of 23 in Nature. For a small, non-competitive club this wasn’t bad!
