2021 ended with our usual Christmas Competition – IN PERSON in The Bell Inn!
The committee wishes you all a healthy, promising and fulfilling New Year!  You now have over half a million minutes to take a great, winning picture in 2022.

NEXT MEETING Wednesday, 19th January 2022 – 8:00-10:00 PM
LOCATION:  In person ONLY at The Bell Inn
Jay Charnock FRPS – Evaluation of Mounted Prints for Exhibition and Competition

This was suggested by Members to understand what to look for in mounted prints.  We are not generally a competitive Club although we like to take part in the occasional SPA competition; we also enjoy our Annual Exhibitions in the Hampton and Teddington Libraries, when Covid permits!
Tonight, Jay  has kindly agreed to review some of our mounted prints and give us advice on what to look for in our Exhibition work and in any competition which HHPS might enter.  Jay will pick up on our strengths and weaknesses and give us hints and tips to help us improve.  She may have some of her own work to show us as examples too.
For the meeting, we are asking members to bring along up to five mounted prints for review.  These may be those you submitted to our recent exhibition at the Hampton Library, or others which you have and would like to bring along to discuss.

LAST MONTH’S MEETING
Wednesday, 15th December 2021 – 8:00-10:00 PM
Christmas Competition and Social with Members

We held our Annual Christmas Competition in-person in the upstairs room of the Bell Inn, Hampton on Wednesday 15th December.  The set subject this year was “a colour”.
Thirteen Members and Guests attended and listened to our judge, Eddie Hyde FRPS, comment on 23 images from eight Members and select the best three for vote by the members.

In the first round of voting two images tied for first place.  A second vote to separate these two images resulted in a second tie, so Eddie Hyde selected the winning image – ‘Flaming Amaryllis’ by Rosie Littlemore (below).  Judy Hicks was second with ‘Standing out in Turquoise’ and Penny Westmoreland third with ‘Lavender Girls, Mayfield’.

The formal evening ended with Eddie presenting the Mike Hammond Trophy to Rosie – followed by a pizza buffet and drinks. This was a members only competition, but guests and family members were welcome to join us and see our work.
