NEXT MEETING AT THE BELL INN
Wednesday 21st February
Paul Waller will present his talk: My Journey to ARPS (and why we take photos)
Paul Waller ARPS, our guest speaker for February, lives locally and is an active member of Kingston Camera Club and the RPS.
Paul will present his talk:  “My Journey to ARPS (and why we take photos)”. This talk is based on Paul’s LRPS and ARPS print submissions, and explains how he went about producing his panel, and the role of RPS advice in this process.
The talk covers some basic technical details of taking the images, post processing, and printing. Paul also discusses the importance of a cohesive panel, and ideas on how to put a good panel together.
Paul says:  Working towards distinctions has (I think) helped improve my photography, and made me reflect on how an awareness of how images are perceived/critiqued by others has given me a better understanding of why I take photos. I will try and explain why I think this is all relevant to the ‘Statement of Intent’ required for ARPS submissions.
This talk should promote some lively discussions!
Paul’s presentation will be digital but he will bring his LRPS & ARPS prints for people to look at before the presentation and during the break.
You can see a small number of examples of his work ere: https://www.paulwallerphotography.com/
Non-members (Fee: £3.00 each) may register on Eventbrite here:  https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/782974577037?aff=oddtdtcreator or just show up on the night.
