An opportunity for you to share with other members the photographs you have taken during the summer or a project you are working on, a new genre for you or – well, anything in fact!
Members do not need to Register.
Non-members Please turn up at the Bell for 8pm. The fee for attending this meeting is just £3 but If you decide to join the Club, this fee will be refunded

Change of Plan! Open discussion of Light, plus some videos and examples.
Unfortunately our scheduled speaker, Caroline Preece, was taken ill rather suddenly and had to cancel at short notice. As a consequence, David hurriedly pulled together some u-tube videos, short talks etc. about “Light” to give people ideas, hints and tips for the Christmas competition. While disappointed not to have a more formal presentation, there was good conversation in the group and the evening was much enjoyed. The members appreciated David’s ability and willingness to put something together “on the spot”.
Caroline’s presentation has now been re-scheduled and she will be speaking to us in October, all being well.
CHRISTMAS COMPETITION – Wednesday 17th December
The subject / theme for the Christmas Competition is “Light” and was chosen by a vote of Members. Keep working on your entries so that we can have the best Christmas Competition ever!
Penny has stepped forward to help organise the evening – but more help is always welcome to organise the competition and evening, so please let me know if you can help with the organisation, booking the pub, ordering meals etc.

EXHIBITIONS AND OTHER ITEMS OF INTEREST
The RPS’s flagship 2025 Open Call Exhibition – IPE 166 – is back in town and on display at the Saatchi Gallery, Duke of York Square until 20th September. More than 150 images from new and established photographers are on display incorporating many styles and genres – we highly recommend a visit.
In case you are unfamiliar with it, the Gallery is just a short walk from Sloane Square Tube Station, The Exhibition is FREE, no pre-booking required – what’s not to like! Here’s the link.
RTPS Annual Exhibition. You might also like to make a note that RTPS Annual Exhibition runs from Saturday 27th September to Sunday 5th October at the Landmark Arts Centre.
Quoting from their website: “Once again the exhibition will showcase the diverse work of one of the oldest and largest photographic societies in the South East.
The event will include the Royal Photographic Society’s Visual Art Group’s own annual exhibition and a special display from members of Arts Richmond, making the event one of the biggest and prestigious photography shows in Surrey. Open daily from 10 am to 4 pm, with a £4 entry charge, children free.”

SURREY PHOTOGRAPHIC ASSOCIATION (SPA) AND PHOTOGRAPHIC ALLIANCE OF GREAT BRITAIN (PAGB) NEWS
The PAGB have announced the cancellation of the 22/23 November distinctions Adjudication in Kingston upon Thames. The next opportunities for Adjudication will be 25/26 April 2026 in Cumbria and 28/29 November 2026 in Colchester. More information can be found on this website: https://the pagb.org.uk

Coming Events and Competitions for the SPA are:
Saturday 25th October – SPA Individual Print & PDI Competition at East Horsley Village Hall, Kingston Avenue, East Horsley, Leatherhead KT24 6QT. Submissions must be uploaded by Saturday 04 October 2025, 3 weeks prior to the competition date.
Saturday 06 December 2025. SPA Inter-club Print Championship at East Horsley Village Hall (see above). Submissions must be uploaded by Saturday 15 November 2025.
