Presentation by local photographer, Paul Waller ARPS

Paul Waller ARPS will be our guest speaker this month. He lives locally and is an active member of
Kingston Camera Club and the RPS.

Paul writes:
This talk is based on my LRPS and ARPS print submissions, and explains how I went about producing my panel, and the role of RPS advice in this process. The talk covers some basic technical details of taking the images, post processing, and printing. I also discuss the importance of a cohesive panel, and ideas on how to put a good panel together. Working towards distinctions has (I think) helped improve my photography, and made me reflect on how an awareness of how images are perceived/critiqued by others has given me a better understanding of why I take photos. I will try and explain why I think this is all relevant to the ‘Statement of Intent’ required for ARPS submissions.
I hope that this talk will provoke some lively discussion!

You can see a small number of examples of his work here: https://www.paulwallerphotography.com/
Paul’s presentation will be digital but he will bring his LRPS & ARPS prints for people to look at
before the presentation and during the break.
