Presentation by Annabel Moeller: Techniques for Relaxed and Authentic Portraiture
Presentation in person by Annabel Moeller, a photographer with a gift for getting subjects to relax for the camera
This is an exclusive talk to Hampton Hill Photographic Society by Annabel who lives in London but has spent a long time in Australia and has travelled extensively. Her photography spans over three decades and combines an acute sense of adventure with capturing an astonishingly diverse cast of characters.
Annabel has photographed the creative powerhouses of the Sydney Opera House and the London Coliseum, a hefty body of work that stands in stark contrast to the war-scarred battlegrounds of Afghanistan, Ukraine and Iraq. She has photographed catwalk models, ballet dancers, opera stars, soldiers, surgeons, and civilians. Annabel will talk about assessing different situations quickly to get pleasing results (Aka: tips for “flying by the seat of your pants”). She will also touch on techniques to get the best out of people in order to produce the heart and soul of photography.
