NEXT MEETING
Wednesday 15th April at the Bell Inn, Hampton
Picture Selection for the SPA Inter-club PDI Championship to be held on 9th May at East Horsley Village Hall
This is a chance to enjoy each other’s images.  A judge will come along to review and assess them and rank the top 20 for the Open and top 15 for the Nature categories. Everyone present will then have fun whittling them down to the final selection to enter into the competition.  Rules, including the definition of Nature and Nature-type images, were emailed to members together with dropboxes. All of the SPA Rules for this competition can be found here:

This evening is really for members but non-members and guests are welcome to come along though will not be able to enter pictures. Please register here https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1979241058285 or just turn up and pay the £3 fee on the door.

LAST MEETING
AGM – ALL CHANGE!
Great news. Further to our call for new Committee members, we are thrilled to announce the following appointments:

Chairman: Azalea Dalton, replacing David Hicks after 17 years

Treasurer: Mike Eaton, replacing Charles Titcombe after 4 years

Programme: Rosie and Jacquelin will jointly be responsible for the programme, principally finding speakers and judges, taking over from Judy Hicks

Publicity and Website: Gökhan Darcan will remain in his role running our website, dealing with technical issues, creating posters, etc.

David and Judy will still be around to help with the handover and will continue with some of the non-Committee tasks.

After the AGM we looked at members’ projected images. We also presented Jacquelin with the trophy for getting the most public votes at our annual print exhibition. The winning prints have been moved from Hampton and are now on display at Teddington Library until 20th April.

MAY MEETING
Wednesday 20th May at the Bell Inn
Presentation in person by Annabel Moeller, a photographer with a gift for getting subjects to relax for the camera
This is an exclusive talk to Hampton Hill Photographic Society by Annabel who lives in London but has spent a long time in Australia and has travelled extensivelyHer photography spans over three decades and combines an acute sense of adventure with capturing an astonishingly diverse cast of characters. Annabel has photographed the creative powerhouses of the Sydney Opera House and the London Coliseum, a hefty body of work that stands in stark contrast to the war-scarred battlegrounds of Afghanistan, Ukraine and Iraq. She has photographed catwalk models, ballet dancers, opera stars, soldiers, surgeons and civilians. Annabel will talk about assessing different situations quickly to get pleasing results (Aka: tips for “flying by the seat of your pants”). She will also touch on techniques to get the best out of people in order to produce the heart and soul of photography. See her images here: https://www.annabel.photography/fullscreen/coverphoto-static-title-2/ .
