SUMMARY:Christmas Competition and Social
DESCRIPTION:Well, it is going to be a little different this year!  Our usual annual (and only competition) will be online and we will be raising a glass of Christmas cheer from the comfort of our own homes rather than from The Bell Inn in person, but we trust that all Members will put in their entries and join in the spirit (excuse the pun) of the evening.\nhttps://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/online-annual-members-christmas-competition-tickets-121605785177 ( https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/online-annual-members-christmas-competition-tickets-121605785177 )\nThe subject this year is “Contrast” or “Contrasts”.  This has a very broad scope and the Committee chose it on the basis that pictures can be produced for it in any number of situations:  so at home or away, indoors or out!  The only critical point is that your entries have to be “on subject” by showing Contrast or Contrasts – for example contrasting colours, textures, young and old, large and small, new or antique, an old building beside a new one – many options.  Entrants are constrained only by their imaginations!\nEach member will be able to submit up to three PDI (digital) images and each must have a title.  The judge will comment on and critique each image, including confirming that, in his/her opinion, the images and the titles match the competition criteria.  He/she will then select what they consider to be the three best images and the final choice will be by vote of the Members present who will produce the final 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.\nOur Judge for the evening will be Gerald Kitiyakara LRPS:  as well as being a well-known as an SPA Judge, Gerald is President of Carshalton Camera Club.\nThe winner will receive a trophy to keep the for a year and a photo of them receiving it virtually!\nEntries must be submitted by midnight on Friday 11th December, in order that they can be sent to the Judge to review in advance.\n\nThe topic for last year was an image depicting the title of a published book and Rick Goldstein was the winner with “Papillion”.  Here’s the winning image:\n\n\nIf you need any more information, please contact David by e-mail chairman@hamptonhillps.org.uk or any other members of the Committee.\n\n
